ATHENS - Charles E. Love Sr., 87 of Sunbury, Ohio, a former resident of ATHENS -assed from this world into heaven Thursday, May 13, 2004. He was the son of the late Ray and Mary (Bean) Love. He was Born January 29, 1917 in Kearney, Nebraska. When he returned to ATHENS -e lived at the family farm "Rocky Point". Prior to World War II he moved to Wyandotte, Michigan and worked for Penn Salt Chemicals. He was drafted into the army in 1941 to 1945. He married W. Pauline Steinmetz in 1944, with whom he had six children.In 1981 he married Mrs. Irene Knuckles of Sunbury where he made his home and Country View Nursing Home. He was a member of ATHENS -hurch of Christ and attended Grace Baptist Church in Sunbury. He leaves his wife and children; Irene Love, Sunbury; children, David (Cindy) Love, Michigan, Dawn Love Ruhinen (Lincoln), Athens, Deborah Love, Athens, Julie Love Hilliker (Allen), Michigan, Jody Ray Love (Lisa), Virginia, Richard Knuckles, Ella Mae Holmes and Judy Ulery; grandchildren, Ruby, Tad, Allen, Jacob, Schana, Christopher, James, Sarah, Brandon, Carter, Demi, Amy, Mike, Kenny, Rick, Mindy and Tammy; and also 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister and son Charles Love Jr. (2001). Funeral services with military honors will be Monday, May 17, 2004 at Clarkchr(39)s Chapel Church, Athens. Calling hours are two hours prior to services, with services starting at 1 PM. Interment will be at Clarkchr(39)s Chapel Cemetery. All veterans are welcome for honor guard.
