ATHENS - Larry Ross Isel, 67, of ATHENS died Friday, July 20, 2007 at his home.
He was born June 14, 1940 in Nelsonville, and was the son of the late John and Rosetta Hitchings Isel.
He was a US Marine veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shrine Club. He dearly enjoyed the base fiddle.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel; three sons, John (Pam) Isel, Joe (Lynn) Howard and Larry (Becky) Howard; five daughters, Lori Isel, Wendy (Gary) Barnhart, Sandy (Jim) Brown, Toni Calendine and special friend Dave, and Carolyn (Charles) McMillian; one step daughter, Susan; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Loretta; a half brother, Ernie; and his special dog, Jake.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Clara May Miller.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Ochr(39)Brien officiating. Burial will be at Hilltop Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Masonic services will be conducted at 7 PM.
