ATHENS - Bobby E. Blackstone, 80, of Athens, died early Saturday morning, September 27, 2008 at his home. Born June 7, 1928 in Nelsonville, he was the son of the late Harley Elsworth and Dora Emiline Lemon Blackstone. He had been a farmer most of his life and was a US Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Belle; three daughters, Ellen (Dan) Mitchell of Coshocton, Rosemary Hayman of Waverly, Joyce Blackstone of Athens; eight grandchildren, Michele, Bryan, Brandie, Bobby, Dustin, Christopher, Beth, Tessa; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, James (Rosella) Blacksten of Illinois, Jerry (Nancy) Blacksten of Indiana. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Ann Blackstone, Nancy Irene Blackstone; a granddaughter, Rebecca Renee Reeves; three sisters and two brothers. Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Gary Alton officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
