Willard Coon

ATHENS - Willard E. Coon, 83, of ATHENS died Thursday morning, November 10, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Born October 28, 1928 in Athens, he was the son of the late Pearl and Frances Coon.

He attended Poston Methodist Church, and will be remembered as a wonderful husband and father.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Juanita; two children, Jeannie (David) Reed of Florida, and Steve (Jennifer) Coon of Athens; one step-son, Scott (Valerie) Thomson of Florida; nine grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Karen Sites; and nine siblings, Blanch Adams, Verna Brakeall, Lesley Coon, Margaret Madru, Otho Coon, Clarice Shields, Lorenzo Coon, Mary Bradley and Waveline Coon.

Services will be Tuesday at noon at Hughes Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Strode officiating. Burial will be at Alexander Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday two hours prior to the service.
