AMESVILLE – Joyce D. Burgess, 84, of Columbus, formerly of Amesville, died Friday evening, May 20, 2016 at The Woodlands of Columbus. Born February 3, 1932 In Amesville, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Clark and Delta Lucille Lochary Jago. She was a graduate of Ames-Bern High School and retired from Western Electric. She was loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Charles Dinty Burgess; four children, Carolyn (Donny) Justus, Dianne (Fred) Summers, Linda (Michael Smith) Thompson, Charles (Donna) Burgess; ten grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two brothers, Ashia (Louise) Jago, Aaron (Becky) Jago; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Kramer; eight siblings, Adrian, Phyllis, Irene, Maxine, Arthur, Arnold, Addison, and Allen. Services will be Monday at 11:00 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Denver Dodrill officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery.
