Adam Keith Kirkendall, 38, passed away after a pernicious battle with ALS on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in Marietta, Ohio. Born on August 26, 1986, his life was filled with warmth, adventure, and a deep appreciation for the world around him.
After living in Columbus, New York, and New Jersey for 12 years, Adam moved back to Athens and built a successful career as a Quality Engineer at Sunpower, Inc., where his dedication and attention to detail were evident in every project he touched. His work reflected not only his technical skill but also his commitment to excellence and innovation.
Outside of his professional life, Adam embraced every opportunity to explore and connect. He found joy in reading and running, often combining his love for the outdoors with long hikes through nature. Traveling brought him new perspectives and experiences that he cherished deeply. Whether sharing stories over coffee or laughing with friends, Adam's presence brought brightness and sincerity to those around him.
He is lovingly remembered by his father, Fred Kirkendall, and his sister, Ashley Blaine. Adam was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Kirkendall, and his grandmother, Betty McComas.
Adam's kind heart and adventurous spirit left an indelible mark on those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and inspiration to all whose lives he touched.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hughes Funeral Home where private green burial services will be held at the convenience of the family officiated by his dear friend, Jeff Shumway. Those who wish to sign the online guestbook or leave the family a message of sympathy may do so at www.ehwfh.com.
