Betty's educational pursuit led her to earn her CCDC III-E in 1985 and became a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counsler (LICDC) in May 2007, equipping her with the knowledge and skills necessary for her impactful work in the counseling industry. She dedicated her life to public service in Athens County & passionately served countless individuals, offering support, guidance, and hope to those battling addiction. Betty's dedication to her profession was exemplified by her 20 tenure at Health Recovery Services and 6 years at My Sisters Place, where she worked tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of her clients.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Betty's true joy in life was derived from the love she shared with her daughter, Kelsey Gaughan. Their bond was unbreakable, a testament to the unconditional love and support they provided for one another. Betty was a beacon of light, always offering encouragement and promoting personal growth. Her memory will forever be cherished by Kelsey and all who knew and loved her.

In honoring Betty's wishes, her earthly remains have been entrusted to the compassionate care of cremation by Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home.
