Beverly D. Van Meter Pedigo, 84 of Shade, daughter of John and Octa Lonas Van Meter and lovingly raised by Grandma Ethel, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., surrounded by her family.
Beverly attended Shade High School, Class of 1958, and later retired from the Alexander School District, where she worked for many years as the junior high librarian.
She and her husband Joe were avid bowlers, loved high school basketball and enjoyed vacationing at the beach with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Grandma Ethel; her husband, Joe Pedigo; her daughter, Judy Pedigo Smith; granddaughter, Ashley Jo Hiller; great-grandson, Luke Henry Ford; and son-in-law, Ricky Smith.
Beverly is survived by her daughters Jolynn (Art) Tipton, Jenni Smith, and Jill (Drew) Ford; her grandchildren Kevin, Timmy (Sarah), Kelly (Isaac), Cassie (Corey), Smith (Kristina), Trey (Megan), and Nathan (Megan); great-grandchildren Kiera, Emma, Bree, Gabriel, Noah, Lanie, Oliver, Anders, Faith, and Sheyanna; and great-great-granddaughter Riley. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend Alice King; siblings Gary (Brenda) Van Meter and Jane (Bill) Elekes; and sisters-in-law JoAnn Pedigo, Charlotte Pedigo, and Betsy Schoonover.
