REEDSVILLE—Carl Chichester, 84, of Reedsville, OH, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Parkersburg, WV, to the late Violet Chichester.
He worked as a bodyman his entire life and retired from Matheny’s in 2007. Carl was a Christian by faith and attended the Eden United Brethren Church. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet Sovel Chichester; 3 daughters, Carla (Steve) Browning, Cathy (Jerry) Swain and Jill (Tim) Smith; 5 grandchildren, Brandon (Kailyn) Browning, Bridget (John) Driggs, Jacob Swain, Miranda Smith and Mary (Josh) Grinnell; 9 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Roy (Diane) Bauman; 4 sisters, Debe (Bruce) Clark, Peggy (Ray) Rector, Tracey (Ed) Harry and Sue (Randy) Saitor.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Bob Chichester and Henry Bauman; 2 sisters, Patty Hauger and Betty Nesselrode.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Pastor Aaron Martindale officiating. Burial will follow in the Eden Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 11 A.M. until the time of service.
