Carolee Miller

ATHENS—Carolee Miller, 75, of Athens, OH, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 11, 1949, in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Martin J. and Alma Mae Zickefoose Schneider. Carolee was a loving mother and sister. She was a graduate of Athens High School, loved playing Bingo, going on vacations and shopping. Carolee enjoyed helping others, including her son, Jason Schneider. She spent a lot of her time volunteering at Life Point Pentecostal Church and various other organizations. She was also a member of the Athens Photo Project.

Carolee is survived by her son, Jason Schneider of Athens, OH; 3 sisters, Cynthia Schneider of Cranberry Township, PA, Bonnie Porter of Athens, OH and Patty Elias of Parkersburg, WV; nephew, Tony Mayo of Columbus, OH; great-nephew, Mark Mayo of Columbus, OH; special friends, Bonnie Gorby, Lisa and Jack Norman, David Emrick and family, Jenny and Mike Canter, Ron Brezina and many special friends at Life Point Pentecostal Church, Heritage Commons and Hopewell Health Center and her special dog, Ms. Muffin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Miller; great-nephew, Danny Mayo; brother-in-law, Jim Kelly; special aunt and uncle, Zita and Jewel Kincaid and her special dog, Tinker.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 P.M., Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, at the Life Point Pentecostal Church in Athens, OH, with Pastor Barry Blankenship officiating. Food and fellowship will follow the service at the church.

A private burial will take place in the Knollwood Cemetery in Logan, OH.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hughes Funeral Home in Athens, OH.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to Carolee’s Home Health Aides, Cheryl Nichols and Kathy VanDyke; Case Worker, Julie Heddleson and her visiting nurse, Lisa Rutter for the wonderful care given to Carolee over the years.
