NELSONVILLE-- Connie Matlack Johnson, of Nelsonville passed away Tuesday, April 2nd after a brief illness. To be absent from family and friends is to be in the presence of the Lord and her waiting husband Seldon.
Connie was born in Washington, DC on September 19, 1942, the daughter of the late Arthur Ronald Matlack and Hilda Virginia (Golliday) Matlack Carpenter.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Eric (Shoma) of Dublin,OH and Clay Elliott (Kelli) Johnson of Deland, FL, as well as her beloved grandchildren Hannah Elizabeth Johnson and Benjamin David Johnson of Columbus, OH.
Connie retired after 25 years of Federal service from the Treasury department, and the Internal Revenue Service.
Connie first joined the First Presbyterian Church in Ravenswood, WV in 1949 and later rejoined the Presbyterian Church of Nelsonville.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Seldon Ronald Johnson, also, both her parents, and son, Mark Edward Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 5, 2024, at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH. Burial will follow in the Torch Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday, from 11:30 A.M. until time of service.
