Dana Wilfong

Dana Wilfong, 69, of Coolville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2026, after a battle with AML.

He was born March 29, 1956, in Duck Run, West Virginia. A son of Ernest Dan Wilfong and Lena Taylor Jackson, Dana was a retired Class A distribution lineman and dump truck driver. He was a member of the Coolville Peoples Club, having served as president. He enjoyed antique cars, always working on something. He was known for feeding everyone. He loved bluegrass music, camping, and yearly apple butter making with family and friends. He will be missed beyond words.

Dana is survived by his wife, Amy Kinison Wilfong; a daughter, Shelley Misner; sons, Rob Wilfong of Glenville, WV, Shawn and Kim Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Shanda Welch (Jason Jenne), Austin Fitzgerald, Brent Welch (Haylea Downey), Courtney Fitzgerald, Steven Fitzgerald (Ciara Browning), Tyler Misner (Courtney Mather), Brandon Misner, Chelsea Pinkerton & family; great grandchildren, Brantley, Wyatt, Teaghan, Reaghan, Parker, Karson, Luke, Presley, Bryson, and Stetson; sisters, Tina Cassell, Barb Millhone, Darlene Jordan (Don), and Marlene Hickman Jeske; brothers, Dale, Pete (Jessica), and Robin (Shelly) Hickman of Tanner, WV, and Jack (Joyce) Gainer of Washington, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Brad and Clark Wilson; and two sisters, Bonnie Kay Burrows and Donna Dailey.

Dana’s request was for cremation. A celebration of life is being planned and will be announced for family and friends.
