Daniel Wayne Brooks

ATHENS—Daniel Wayne Brooks, 68, of Athens, OH, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2026, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 1, 1957, in Athens, OH, son of the late Lawrence and Betty Miller Brooks. Daniel was a U.S. Army Veteran, loved spending time with his grandkids and helping others. He was an avid outdoorsman and motorcycle rider. He will be missed by his dogs.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lori Pikaart Brooks; two sons, Shaun and Kelly Brooks and Shawn Brooks; three daughters, Saundra and Gary Tovey, Amy and Brian Wamsley and Christina and Matthew Gorman; nine grandchildren, Kyler, Eddie, Mya, Mia, Ava, Ella, Liam, Alysa and Aiden; four brothers, James, Dennis, Ricky and Jerry; three sisters, Linda, Christy and Jennie and a special sister-in-law, Cindy Castle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Mikey J; two brothers, Harold and Lawrence; sister, Connie; mother-in-law, Connie Deberardinis and two brothers-in-law, Vern Castle and Leonard Pikaart.

There will be no visitation or funeral services.
