Pomeroy - David Ronald Riggs, 87, of Pomeroy, died Friday, September 5, 2025, at Arbors of Pomeroy.

Born June 4, 1938, in Bedford Township, Meigs County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Fred and Lutchie Stacy Riggs. David was a retired union carpenter. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and train and test dogs. He was a founding member of the Appalachian Valley Chapter of the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association. He was a member of the Hemlock Grove Christian Church and Harrisonville Masonic Lodge 411. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, and watching the Cincinnati Reds when he and his wife Carol weren’t traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Curtis Riggs; six children, David Ray (Beth) Riggs, Mark (Jennifer Johnson) Riggs, Daniel (Shelly) Riggs, Paul (Lisa) Riggs, Linda (Paul) McConnell and Lisa (Harold) Carefoot; four bonus children, Carl (Kyle Allen) Gheen, Julia (Thomas) Sayre, Bruce Gheen and Bryan Gheen; eleven grandchildren, Brooke (Jason), Daniel, Calvin, Adrianna, Rachel, Samuel, Cassandra, Michael, Sarah, Jacob and Nicholas; Bonus grandchildren; Abram, Anna (Brent), Breanna (Joshua), Jenny, and Bryan Junior; Bonus great grandchildren; Carli, Josh Junior, Gwyneth, Benjamin, Gideon, Dylan, Aydan, Lyla, and Haze; one sister, Edith Heckert; one brother, Herbert Riggs and one sister-in-law, Gloria Riggs.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Burlingham Cemetery in Darwin with Gordon (Bud) Randolph officiating. Masonic services will be conducted at 1:00 PM by The Harrisonville Masonic Lodge 411. You are invited to sign the online guestbook at ehwfh.com.
