Delcie Frances Gilkey

Delcie Frances Gilkey, born on March 14, 1946, went to her Lord and Savior on October 7th, 2023, in Athens, Ohio. She joins on the other side her late husband Gerry Gilkey. Frances was born in Kentucky to Dixie and Otha Keaton. She was raised in Kentucky, with her sister Polly Keaton and her stepbrother. She has been known and loved in the Athens area for more than 30 years, where she did a great deal of community service including volunteering with Gerry at Good Works on Friday nights, at the Athens Church of Christ meal on Tuesday nights, and helping with UCM Thursday Supper and Saturday Lunch for many years. Frances loved to read her Bible daily and she loved Christian music. Along with her family, she loved her special friends Lisa Baughman, Scott Thacker, Bill Miller, Ryan and Blake Christian, Sharon Bullock, Tonya Bullock, Tonya Richards, her dear friend Becky, Ken Ryan, Sherry Shutts, and Shannon and Jay Stewart, and Jay's father Jim. Frances loved cooking and playing bingo, karaoke, telling jokes, and laughing and talking with the many people who loved her and love her still. She was a member of the Athens Church of Christ. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday October 14, 2023 from 1-3 at Carpenter Hall.
