Diana Hamilton
Diana (Phillips) Hamilton, age 69, of Little Hocking, OH, succumbed to her last battle with cancer June 8, 2016 at home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born August 10, 1946 to the late Lee and Helen (Porter) Phillips. A lifelong resident of Athens County, she attended Athens Elem. and Chauncey Dover High School. She worked retail most of her life and enjoyed traveling day trips and spending time with family and friends.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; first husband Gary Hunter; late husband David Hamilton; an infant son and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was a loving sister to Bill Dewey (Sandy), Brenda Cremeans (Russ) and Lee Phillips (Cheryl). She is survived by all her siblings; daughters Vickie Hunter, Beverly Hunter (Toby) and Jennifer (Hamilton) Jones (Brian); grandchildren Breanna Brozak (Kurt), Bradley Church, Brandon Jones, Macie Jones and Mariah Jones and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
At her request there will be no funeral processions due to Diana donating her body to WVU to help in the research of brain cancer for a hopeful cure for others. Diana was blessed with the help and support of the Rosenbaum Family House of Morgantown, WV and the Cancer Treatment Center of America. The family asks that donations please be made to those foundations in honor of her name to help with the assistance of other families in their time of need. The family would like to express their love and gratitude with a special thank you to all friends, Dr. Gonzalez, Dr. Bhatia and their staff at Ruby Memorial WVU and all the help and support from Marietta Hospice Care.
