Donald Young

GUYSVILLE-- Donald Young, 73, of Guysville, OH, passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, OH.

He was born Dec. 27, 1952, in Columbus, OH, son of the late Thomas and Garnette Preece Young. Donald was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran and served on the U.S.S. Forrestal. He loved being a jokester and was a friend to everyone. He never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Younkin Young; 2 daughters, Lisa and Willie Guess and Staci and Tim Snedden; step-daughter, Heather Neiderhiser; step-son, Duane and Penny Neiderhiser; 8 grandchildren, Levi, Wayland, Gracie, Weston, Colt, Dakota, Cheyenne and Dylan; 4 great-grandchildren, Natalie, Levi, Brooklyn and Carson and several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Darla; 4 sisters, Ivalea, Judy, Phyliss

and Kathy; 6 brothers, William, Harold, Gary, Jimmy, Edgar and Paul.

Military graveside services will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at the Asbury Cemetery, with Denny Snedden officiating

There will be no visitation.
