“What am I to do without you to know the thoughts that I think before I know them myself?” The Heart of the Hunter
Could he be difficult, even harsh? At times, but he could also be the kindest, most compassionate person you would ever meet. Always ready with advice or a skilled helping hand. Children and dogs, who can discern character quickly and accurately, loved him. His spontaneity and intellect made for conversations like no others. He strived always for a direct connection, whether to another person or to God. He was truly puzzled that what was so obvious to him was unfathomable to others. He remained convinced they were just holding out on him. He sought truth before anything else and had no patience with dissemblers nor tolerance for lies. He could judge others but reserved the harshest judgements for himself. His music, his voice and rhythm guitar were one of his greatest tools for direct connection. They were natural, authentic and moving. He entertained many but ultimately played for himself and God.
Psalm 27:4
One thing have I desired of the LORD,
that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the LORD,
and to inquire in his temple.
