Doris Marie Jones Gordon, beloved mother was born in Dallas, TX, on August 20, 1932, to Marie Wyatt Jones and Simon Cleveland Jones. She passed away on July 28, 2025, in Marietta, OH. Doris spent the majority of her childhood in Edinburg, TX. While in high school she played softball and was a member of the dance team. Upon marrying she moved north to Ohio, where she raised her family.

Doris was a devoted mother to her children. She was a great lover of animals, collector of antiques, bowling team member and avid sports fan. Cheering on her favorite teams, The Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs, visiting east coast lighthouses, and drinking Diet Dr. Pepper, were among her favorite things.

Doris owned and operated an Antique shop and worked at Arcadia Nursing Home in Coolville, OH for a number of years. She had many friends in and around the Coolville area, where she lived until her passing.

Doris is the beloved mother and step-mother of Jake/Lynn Gordon, FL, Terry/Julie Gordon, TX, Rodney/Debi Gordon, OH, Mary/Mark Swecker, VA, Taylor/Angela Gordon, AZ, Eric Tracey, OH, Laramie Swecker, DC and Sienna Swecker, TX; great grandmother of Jacob and Riley Freeman, Beau and Kinley Gordon and Travis Gordon.

Doris was preceded in death by her father Simon Jones; her mother, Marie Jones Phillips; brother, Guy Simon Jones; former husband, Emery J. Gordon and longtime friend, Okey Ingram.

A private family memorial service was held at White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH. Final resting place is in the Coolville Cemetery.

In her memory, friends and family may give a donation to a local charity in her name.
