Doris King

Coolville

Doris King, born September 9, 1967, passed away on October 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and loved ones.

Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was defined by her compassion, generosity, and deep love for her family. She will be remembered for the countless ways she cared for others, the memories she created with those she loved, and the special place she held in the hearts of so many.

Doris dedicated many years of her life to working as a nurse, spending her days caring for others with the same kindness and compassion that came naturally to her. Eventually, her greatest calling became caring for her own family. She devoted herself to raising her grandchildren, Charles “Gavin” King and Mariah King, whom she adopted and loved as her own children. She embraced motherhood again, providing them with love, stability, and a home filled with the kind of care only she could give. Her love for her family knew no limits, and she showed that family is built not only by blood, but by the love and sacrifices we make for one another.

Doris is survived by her children, Greg (Tara) King, Rachel (Chris) Reed, and Brittany King (Oguzhan); her beloved grandchildren, Charles “Gavin” King and Mariah King, whom she lovingly adopted and raised; and the daughters she welcomed into her heart and loved as her own, Nikki Minear and Ashley (Chuck) Ward.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Ariana, Atlee, Zeke, Mason, Haddeigh, and Mikayla, each of whom brought love and joy into her life.

Doris is also survived by her siblings, Barbara, Donald, and Oakley (Jane), along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close. Doris shared a special bond with her best friend, Diane, whose friendship held a treasured place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Violet and Darrell Stephens; her sister, Brenda Fuller; and three nephews.

Outside of her family and the many people she cared for throughout her nursing career, Doris found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She was a devoted Cleveland Browns and Ohio State fan, always ready to cheer on her teams. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed nature, kayaking, camping, and fishing. Whether spending time in the great outdoors or making memories with family, Doris treasured the moments that made life meaningful.

More than anything, Doris will be remembered for her enormous heart, her devotion to her children and grandchildren, and the way she made room in her life to love others as her own. Her legacy lives on in the family she raised, the lives she touched as a nurse, and the memories that will forever be held close by those who knew and loved her.

Though she will be deeply missed, the love Doris gave so freely will remain with her family and friends always. Her life was a testament to the power of caring for others, and her memory will continue to live on through the people she. loved most.
