Ellen Showalter

CHESTER - Ellen Showalter, 79, of Chester, Ohio, went to be with her Lord on Thursday.

She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Clara Hawley and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earle Showalter.

A 1965 graduate of Middleport High School, Ellen worked as a legal secretary, bank teller, and insurance underwriter and claims manager. She was also a devoted homemaker.

Ellen loved the farm she shared with Earle and had a special passion for animals. She cherished being called “Maw Maw Ello” by Harper and Hazleigh.

She was also blessed by dear friends who became family, including Carla and Stephen Marcinko, Jessica, Jason, Carly, and their families. Ellen held a special place in her heart for Earle’s late cousin Ruth and cousin Joe of Mississippi.

The family thanks Pastor Brenda Barnhart, Rev. Charles McKenzie, and Tammy for their prayers, kindness, and support.

In accordance with Ellen’s wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Burial will take place at Chester Cemetery.
