Elma Castle

Elma Castle, 65, of Guysville, OH, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

Born on June 1, 1960, in Chesterhill, OH, she was the daughter of the late John and Geraldine (Wilson) Merrill. She worked at Reed & Baur Insurance in Athens, OH as an office manager.

Elma is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer (Lane) Sams and Samantha Fryar; son, Steven (Ashley) Fryar; five grandchildren, Morgan (Cole) Weimer, Colton (Emily) Pae, Mollie Coley, Mason Fryar, and Carson Fryar; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Weimer and Walker Pae; four sisters, Louise Pennington, Twyla (Terry) Nogrady, Jonetta (Jeff) Niggemeyer, and Kathy (Clay) Manheim; one brother, Franklin (Vicki) Merrill; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Castle; and brother-in-law, Harold Pennington.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Pastor David Grigsby officiating. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery in Guysville, OH. Visitation will be held from 5-8, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the funeral home.
