Faith Selene Burchfield

New Marshfield - Faith Burchfield, 62, of New Marshfield, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio after a brief illness.

Born January 19, 1964, in Athens, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Elsie Smith Vamos. Faith was a 1982 graduate of Nelsonville High School. She was employed at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital and Specialty Books both in Athens and was a member of the Plains VFW. She was known for having a big heart, enjoying a good time dancing, being a social butterfly and having never met a stranger. She will be missed by all who knew her for her kindness and generosity.

She is survived by her significant other of nineteen years, Bruce Russell; one daughter, Chelsey (Jason King) Mender; two sons, Eli (Shanda Savely) Burchfield and Ethan (Samantha) Burchfield; six grandchildren, Dylan, Devin, Breyona, Morgan, Reagan and Jase; one great grandson, Ryan; two brothers, Roger and Gary and four sisters, Helen, Theresa, Elsie and Noreen;

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul “Butch”, Mike and Steve and three sisters, Comellia, Nancy and Rose Ann.

A memorial service will be held later this spring and will be announced by the family. Faith will be buried in New Marshfield Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at ehwfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hughes Funeral Home in Athens.
