COOLVILLE - Homer Vernon Jeffers, 78, of Coolville, OH, walked into the arms of his Savior from his home on Oct. 31, 2025, after extended health problems.
He was born on July 16, 1947, in Guysville, OH, to Homer and Dorothy (Bowers) Jeffers. After high school he served in the US Army. He married Shirley Barreiro in 1971 and together they raised two children: Michael (Yukari) Barreiro of Marysville, OH and Marina Barreiro of Belpre, OH. He has two beloved grandchildren: Santana Barreiro of Parkersburg, Wv and Kyle Hamrick (Katie) and great-grandsons Braxton and Karter Hamrick of Belpre, OH.
In addition to his children, he is survived by one brother Don (Janet) Jeffers, of Coolville; two sisters, Lorene Cox and Virgene (Larry) Russell of Belpre area; sister-in-law Cindy Jeffers of Barlow; and 26 nieces and nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents, Homer and Dorothy; a brother Michael Jeffers; two sisters Arrah Buck and June James; and three brothers in law Larry Misner, Cecil Cox and Larry James.
Vernon was a member of White Chapel Wesleyan Church and attended faithfully until his health prevented.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Pastor Rick Bourne officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Weatherby Cemetery in Coolville, OH, and a lunch will be held after at the White Chapel Church.
