BUCHTEL--James Ray Thompson, 56, of Buchtel, OH, passed away Oct. 10, 2021 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH.
He was born July 4, 1965, in Pike, KY, son of the late Verna Jean Workman Thompson and Thomas Thompson, Sr. He was a Navy Veteran of the Gulf War. He enjoyed carpentry, painting, playing the guitar and building pole houses for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Cook Thompson; daughter, Miranda; 2 step-sons, Matt Rooney and Chad Rooney; 5 grandchildren, Sephia, Lily, Lane, Arthur and Conor; 2 sisters, Francis Fisher and Amy Leary.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Jr. and 3 sisters, Delana, Tena and Phyllis.
Private services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
