COOLVILLE—Jerry Wayne Owens, 60, of Coolville, OH, passed away July 19, 2025, in Belpre, OH.
He was born December 17, 1964, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Wilbert Franklin Owens, Jr and Carolyn Sue Owens.
He was employed at Orion Engineered in Marietta, OH for 31 years. Jerry loved his family more than anything and was the world’s best Papaw. He was the type of man who would, without hesitation, take on the weight of the world to lessen the burden of others. He was a true Cleveland Browns fan, no matter how good or bad their season was. He enjoyed westerns, fishing and hunting. However, if one were to sneak up to his hunting blind, they may find him napping instead.
Jerry always took care of everyone else, never putting himself before others. He didn’t know a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He was dedicated to his wife, children and grandchildren. His family loved him and his ornery ways, beyond measure. To say the world lost a great man is a vast understatement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and uncle Steve Owens.
Jerry is survived by his wife Tammy Owens; sons Caleb Owens and Bobby Perry; daughters Chelsie Fast (Cody) and Samantha Perry; grandchildren Riley Speece, Jordan Speece, Destiny Speece, Trelyn Hackney, Payten Fast and Vexxy Fast; sisters Becky Cottrill and Rhonda Owens; and more friends than can be counted.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Tim Burch officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 A.M. until time of service.
