John Blake

Long Bottom - John Blake, 60, of Long Bottom, died Thursday, April 30, 2026 at this residence.

Born September 7, 1965, in Gallipolis, Ohio, he was the son of the late Odell and Phyllis Southern Blake. John was an avid sports fanatic and could always be found cheering on his Pittsburg Steelers and Michigan Wolverines. He would watch Jeopardy daily and would yell the answer before the contestants. John also enjoyed trivia.

He is survived by one son, Vance Blake; three sisters, Jill (Bill) Cummings, Bernice (Rick) Wells and Tammy Quillen; nephew Damion Wise and several other nieces and nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Wise; one brother, J.R. Wess; one brother-in-law, Tommy Quillen and a special friend Joe Dawson.

John will have private services with burial in Middleport Hill Cemetery.
