John Willard Brogan, Jr., 84, from Rutland, Ohio, passed away in Lakeland, Florida on May 1, 2025, due to an accidental fall in his town of Zephyrhills, Florida on April 14th.
Born in Charleston, West Virginia, to John W. Brogan, Sr. and Wilda Irene King Brogan (Greene), both now deceased. He was a brother to 15 siblings. Five now living, Joan Goff (Frank), Donald King (Eileen), Larry Brogan (Diane), sister-in-law Judith Brogan “Little Judy”, spouse of Jerry, Judy Collier, and Mark Brogan (Barbara).
Survived by two children, Teresa Valdez (Daniel) of Richwood, Texas and John Brogan of Rutland, Ohio. Three grandchildren, Lex Barker of Tacoma, Washington, Stephanie Skelton (Brian) of Orlando, Florida, Michelle Brogan of Valdosta, Georgia and three great-grandchildren and the extended children, grandchildren, and great x2 grandchildren of Patty Clark and Daniel Valdez.
Preceded in death by father and mother, brothers James (his twin), an unnamed boy, Joe, Jerry, Barry, and Steve and sisters Janet Haley, Joyce Rowe, Diana Godfrey and Linda Dodgen. His grandparents were Chester and Laura Brogan and Gerald and Eliza Greene. Daughter-in-law Shawn MonCrief. His ex-wife, Cletith Eileen Brogan (Warner).
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 11AM, at the Rutland Civic Center, 337 Main St., Rutland, Ohio 45775. Visitation will be held from 9AM until the start of the service.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Ewing Funeral Home in Pomeroy, OH.
