ATHENS – John R. Buckner, 64, of Nelsonville, formerly of Athens, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at his home.
Born July 23, 1954 in Meigs County, he was the son of the Hershel and Catherine Lewis Buckner.
He is survived by two daughters, Brittany (Justin) Cobbs of Richmond, KY, Heidi (Daniel) Gomez of Nogales Sonorro, Mexico; two grandchildren, Daniel Antonio Gomez, Bresadhy Gomez; and a sister, Shirley Hubbard.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Eddie, Hershel, Charles Buckner; two sisters, Bonnie Carter, and Carolyn Youtsey.
