John Ferris Thabet

Mason - John Ferris Thabet, 62, beloved resident of Mason and The Bend area, passed away April 2, 2026 in Charleston, WV.  Born November 29, 1963 in Gallipolis, Ohio, he was the fourth child of John Fredrick and Mary Ruth Forman Thabet.

John was an avid boater on the Ohio River. He had an excellent work ethic and could be very creative. John was educated in Wahama schools and earned a degree in heat processing from Hocking Technical College. He worked for many local businesses and recently retired from Riverside Golf Course where he was a groundskeeper for many years. He enjoyed taking care of trees, plants and watching and identifying birds. He was a devout Christian and very knowledgeable of the Bible.

John leaves his devoted wife, Delia Rapp and a large community of good friends and acquaintances that he truly cared about and enjoyed.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Riverside Golf Club in the banquet hall. Friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at ehwfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Ewing Funeral Home in Pomeroy.
