Justin Edward Lonas

Justin Edward Lonas, 39, of Athens, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. 
Born April 15, 1984 in Athens, Ohio, he is the son of Anthony Lonas and Shirley Elkins-Nieto. Justin loved the paranormal and the supernatural as well as playing Dungeons and Dragons. He enjoyed music and singing any chance he got. Carry on Wayward, Son.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his wife of 12 years, Amanda Ruhlman Lonas; one son, Damon; three brothers, Effy (Elizabeth) Lonas, Cory (Sheila) Lonas and Michael (Savannah) Rodriguez; one sister, Hannah (Jeremy) Lonas and his parents-in-law, Gary and Kathy Ruhlman.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ed Lonas and Joy Boals and an uncle, Derick Boals.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens.  Justin will be buried at the McDougal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the funeral home are requested by the family to assist with unexpected end-of-life expenses.
