Kenda Sue Kirkendall

Kenda Sue Elliott Kirkendall Secoy, 70, passed away Tuesday at her home after a brief illness in the presence of her husband.

Kenda was born on December 20 1955, to Kenneth and Ethel Elliott of New Marshfield. Kenda is survived by her husband Ray and daughter Lindsey (Josh) Zeigler of Albany, OH, also two grandsons, Cpl. Killian A Zeigler, stationed at Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, NC, and Kaidyn, three granddaughters, Lovella, Evesta, and Ivera all of Albany.

Kenda was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joelyn Elliott Hopkins of San Antonio, TX. She is survived by sisters Karen (Joe) Martin of New Marshfield, Clara Elliott, and special friend, Bernita Wessel of Lancaster, OH, brother-in-law Steve Hopkins of Lincoln, NE, and a brother, Bill (Vickie) Elliott of New Marshfield. Kenda also had three nephews, Bob (Helen) Martin of New Marshfield, Doug (Amy) Hopkins of Minot, ND, and Ryan (Kat) Elliott of New Marshfield. Her nieces were Michelle (Rick) Ruble of New Marshfield, Erica Yager of San Antonio, TX, and Alicia (Josh) Greene of New Marshfield. Finally, Kenda had several great nephews and great nieces as well as a great great nephew and two great great nieces.

Kenda worked many years at Ohio University in Athens, OH, and First National Bank at Nelsonville, OH.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 1PM  at the Hughes Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery in Nelsonville.
