Middleport - Kenneth Carsey, 75, of Middleport, died Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
Born June 25, 1949, in Wellston, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thor and Mary Grate Carsey. Ken was a 1967 graduate of Rutland High School. He was employed at the AEP Sporn Power Plant for 29 years as a master maintenance mechanic, a machinist and a boilermaker. Ken was an avid ATV rider and enjoyed dirt bikes. He loved heavy equipment, working with his hands and was a “shade tree’ mechanic.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sheila Clark Carsey; one son, Kenneth Ryan (Emory) Carsey; one grandson, Seth White (Morgan Grinstead); two sisters, Louise (Robert) Luke and Judy Carsey; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim (Beth) Clark and a special friend, John Lightfoot.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kenda Carsey and brother-in-law, John Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Ewing Funeral Home in Pomeroy with Al Hartson officiating. Burial will be in Wells Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday eventing from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Ewing Funeral Home. Following the services at the cemetery, everyone is welcome at the Ewing Family Center for food and fellowship.
