Kenneth Ray McDaniel

Kenneth Ray McDaniel, 67 of Athens, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at his home. Born October 16, 1956 in Athens he was the son of the late Alvin & Mary Davis McDaniel.

As a retired concrete finisher, Kenneth appreciated a hards day work. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and never missed an opportunity to catfish. His grandchildren were his true love. Besides his hobbies and work accomplishments, he was a loyal member of the Vore Ridge Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 47 years, Deborah Douglas McDaniel; daughter, Mary (Keith) Lewis; son, Harold (Elaine) McDaniel; seven grandchildren, Eric Michael, Brionna, Shelby, Mariah, Donnie, Reece, Mia; one great-granddaughter, Miya.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his 11 siblings, Shirley Fox, John McDaniel, Roger McDaniel, Charles McDaniel, Thomas McDaniel, Bob McDaniel, Paul McDaniel, Alvada Buck, Wanda Smith, Phillis Erwin, and Barbara Young.

A funeral service will be 1PM on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Grahams Chapel Cemetery. You may call upon the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with end-of-life expenses.
