REEDSVILLE—Larry E. “Hawg” “Moose” Life, 60, of Reedsville, OH, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026, at his residence after a very brief battle with liver cancer.
He was born Jan. 28, 1966, in Parkersburg, WV, son of the late Paul and Patricia (King) Life. Larry was a Class of 1984 graduate of Eastern High School. He worked at Cole’s Sohio in Tuppers Plain until he was hired at Meigs County Highway Dept. in May of 1988 and retire in July 2021, with 33 years of service. Larry served as a Meigs County Fair Board Member and a member of the Meigs County Republican Central Committee. He owned and operated Summerfields Restaurant with his family. Larry was an Olive Township Trustee from 2018 until the present and President of the Meigs County Trustee Association for the past 2 years. He was currently employed at Don Wood Automotive as a driver, where he made many friends and enjoyed the traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janet R. (Werry) Life; children, Ashley Life and Austin (Kayla Scott) Life; brother, Terry (Regina) Life; sister, Paula Life; uncle, Lyle Life; mother-in-law, Karen Werry; brother-in-law, Ray (Sherry) Werry; sister-in-law, Robin Werry; niece, Dr. Morgan (Kyle) Gordon; nephews, Brandon (Becca) Werry and Matthew Werry; step-nephew, Adam Dillard; numerous cousins; special friends in the “Hood”, Aaron Gillilan and family, Tom Bowie, Cole Bowie, Dee Cummins, Tonya Miller and his fur babies, Boston, Winnie, Braxton and Boone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ed “Tate” Werry; father-in-law, Philip “Flip” Werry; aunts, Eva Zumbach, Juanita Spencer and Ida Boggs.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, July 29, 2026. At White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Jerry Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Success Cemetery. Pallbearers will include, Austin Life, Terry Life, Tom Bowie, Cole Bowie, Aaron Gillilan, Brandon Smith and honorary pallbearer, John “Whiskers” Wolfe.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, from 4-8 P.M.
Memorial contributions in Larry’s honor can be made to the Olive Township Fire Dept., c/o Brandon Smith.
