Louise M. Coleman

Nelsonville - Louise M. Coleman, 65, of Nelsonville, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Born July 18, 1960, in Athens, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Honsel and Kathern Markin Coleman. Louise was a 1978 graduate of Vinton County High School. She was a member of the Black Oak Baptist Church in Radcliff, Ohio where she was a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed being a homemaker, especially cooking and crocheting. She enjoyed her family members and attending family outings. Her biggest joy in life was being a grandma, watching her grandchildren with a gleeful eye.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Summerall and Katheryn (Robby) McPherson; three grandchildren, Joel, Bryden and Gemma; one great grandson, Michael; two sisters, Lucille Jones and Ibby (Mike) Martin; one brother, Joe Coleman; special friends and caregivers, Martha Roberts and Nada Zdjelar and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanie Coleman and Ann Tesno and one brother-in-law, Jim Tesno.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Hughes Funeral Home in Athens with Gary Alton officiating. Burial will be in the Hilltop Cemetery in Millfield.
