The Plains - Lulu B. Everett, 90, of The Plains, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Laurels of Athens.

Born October 19, 1935, in Mineral Wells, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Loman and Pauline Vance Giffin. Lulu was a 1953 graduate of Chauncey-Dover High School. She was employed at Marting’s Department Store on Court Street in Athens for many years and later retired from Goodyear in Logan in 1988. Lulu loved to gamble and back in the day she could be found at the old Athens Mall playing tear offs.

She is survived by three sons, Ralph “Eddy” (Pam) Frost, Richard (Connie) Frost and Lawrence (Vicki) Everett; one daughter, Sherry Wilson Braid; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Everett; three brothers, Cliff, Ted and Bill and one sister, Dottie.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM of Monday, June 8, 2026 at the Hughes Funeral Home in Athens with Gary Alton officiating. Burial will be held in the Hilltop Cemetery in Millfield. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at ehwfh.com.
