MARJORIE LENORE HOON SEBRING

ATHENS - Marjorie Sebring passed away on the evening of May 31st 2025 at Embassy of Logan at the age of 95.

Marjorie was born on November 7, 1929, to Ross and Goldie Young Hoon of Chesterhill, Ohio. She was the eldest of four children, Eleanor Lee, James and Alta (Kay).

After graduating from Marion HS, she married Robert A. Sebring on June 1, 1947.

They enjoyed 57 years and many adventures until Robert’s death in 2004.

Marjorie and Robert had four sons, John Ross, Robert Lee, Tim Allen and James Mark.

Throughout her life, she was a partner, mother, housewife and faithful to her methodist faith. Besides assisting in the family lumber/building business, the family ventured to the U.S. Virgins Islands in the 60s and maintained a residence until 2017.

Marjorie was a member of Richland Global Methodist Church of Athens, Oh and a former member of St CroixReformed Church – U.S.V.I.

Besides her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by husband Robert, sons Tim Allen and James Mark, granddaughter Kristen Sebring Kauer and daughter-in-law Kelly Sebring.

Marjorie is survived by sons, John of Chauncey and Robert (Susan) of Athens, OH.: grandchildren, Danny, Bobby, David, Jeremy, Shauna, Mary Nicole and Bobby Ross and 10 great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday June 14, 2025 Hughes Funeral Home 168 Morris Ave., Athens, Oh., at noon. Visitation will be held from 11:00 – 12:00 with a meal following services at Richland Global Methodist Church,60 Pomeroy Rd, Athens. All are welcome to share food and fellowship.

Final resting place will be in Clarks Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richland Global Methodist Church, 60 Pomeroy Rd, Athens, Ohio..
