Mary Dorothy Kennedy

Mary Dorothy Kennedy passed on Oct. 3rd, 2026, at Rockland Ridge Nursing home in Belpre, OH, after a short illness.

She was born Feb. 23, 1929, on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Mary’s father, James, was a Veterinarian and her mother, Irene Elizabeth was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

Mary had 12 siblings. A brother, Norbert Rice and a sister, Ruth McDonald still remain. She is also survived by her children, Betty Rader, David (Anette) Rice, Dan (Kathy) Pavia and Richard (Charlee) Kennedy; three stepchildren, Mark Kennedy, Karen Kennedy and Kip Kennedy; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jerry Rader.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17th, 2026, at 10 A.M., at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Schoolhouse Road in Porterfield (Little Hocking), OH. There will be a dinner immediately following the service and all are welcome. Desserts are appreciated.

A private graveside service will follow.
