She was born on July 13, 1927, the daughter of Fred and Flossie McClelland in Greens Run. The family later moved to True Town and she attended Chauncey-Dover School where she graduated. She started working first at a local Drug/Sundry store until she became a cashier at Krogers in Athens, where she stayed for 16 years. Next, she worked at the Top Value Stamp Store, for several years. By this time, she decided to work for herself and started selling monuments from her home and also became the local Avon lady. She later moved the monument business to Athens. About the time she turned 80, she started and managed The Corner Pizza Parlor for 5 years. She continued selling monuments in Athens until she was 90. After retiring, she started mowing her own grass, reading books and doing word search puzzles. She was on The Old Settlers Reunion Committee for over 25 years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW #9866 Ladies Auxillary and the Taylor Ridge Ladies Aide.
The family would like to say thank you to Ohio Health Hospice for their care and support.
