Mike Walker

Pomeroy - Mike Walker, 75, of Pomeroy, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

Born April 4, 1951, in Richwood, WV, he was the son of the late Major Willard and Vera Bragg Walker. Mike was a graduate from Meigs High School in 1969 and Rio Grande University. He was employed by Southern Ohio Coal Meigs Mine #3 and later taught at Meigs High School. He was the Grand Master of Pomeroy Lodge #164 and an avid sports fan. If the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes or Cincinnati Reds were playing, you could bet the ranch he was paying attention and cheering them on….or in case of the Browns, he was saying “there’s always next year!” Mike also had a passion for cars. He belonged to several car clubs and enjoyed attending all the car shows he could. He was the proud owner of a 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle, 1998 Chevrolet Corvette and his first classic car was a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Sandra Miller Walker; one daughter, Stephanie (Charles) Mash; two grandchildren, Scott Roush and Caroline Roush; one brother, Forrest (Fifi) Walker; two sisters, Ruth Walker and Alisa Walker; three brother-in-laws, Joe (Shirley) Miller, John (Lena) Miller and Jeff (Robyn) Miller; one sister-in-law, Brenda ( Steve) Taylor and his former son-in-law, David Roush.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Robert and Judy Haley Miller.

Mike’s wishes were that there be no services. He will be interred at Meigs Memory Gardens in Pomeroy. Friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at ehwfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Ewing Funeral Home in Pomeroy.
