Phillip Michael Jones

The Plains - Phillip Michael Jones, 69, of The Plains, died Saturday, September 12, 2026 at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio.

Born April 24, 1957, in Claxton, Georgia, he was the son of the late Sara Zorn Jones. Phil, known as Mike to his 1975 classmates at Glenville High School was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Glenville, Georgia. Phil was a truck driver and loved to drive his truck all across the country. He had a great sense of humor and was known as a prankster. Phil was a proud United States Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years Lynda Mash Jones; six children, Brianna, Shaun, Shanna, Karl, Kristoffer and Chaz; fourteen grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Kathy Nobles and special friends, Ed and Ann Hicks.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Franklin Nobles.
