Phyllis Regina Stoncel

Athens -  Phyllis Regina Stoncel, 82, of Athens, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at her residence after a brief illness.

Born July 21, 1941, in Charleston, WV, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Garrett and Delores Darby.  Phyllis was an avid quilter, belonged to several quilt clubs and was a volunteer at the Dairy Barn.  She retired from Ohio University after 30 years of service.  Phyllis also enjoyed supporting the Bobcats with her many friends in “Jan’s Fans”.

She is survived by a son, Anthony (Melanie) Stoncel; a daughter, Joni (David) Dailey and a granddaughter Madeline Dailey and her fiance Bryce Loomis.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Stoncel in 2020.
