Randall Lane Woolum

     ATHENS--Randall Lane Woolum, 60, passed away on Dec. 20th, 2023, at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by his family.  Randy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May and he fought it with all his might.  He enjoyed these last few months as much as possible while doing chemo treatments.  He visited with family and friends just about every weekend and was able to travel to Florida one last time to sit on the beach with his sister and then to Tennessee to see the mountains.  Randy enjoyed playing pool, driving his Jeep, hanging out in the pool and hot tub, going to casinos, watching football, visiting with friends out at Doug’s, and just sitting by the fire with Molly.  He also loved traveling around the south visiting beaches, casinos, and friends we made along the way.

     Randy was born on Jan. 17th, 1963, to the late Violet McCune Bungard and Charles “Ray” Woolum.  He is survived by his wife, Molly Burchfield Woolum, of 24 years (together for 32).  Together they raised 4 children, Sarah Woolum (Greg Dodson) of Bella Vista, AR, Corey Woolum, of Marion, OH, Jessica (Kris) Kerr, of Parkersburg, WV, and Hannah Rice (Jordan Davis) of Athens, OH.  He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, who he adored - Bella, Brooklyn, and Ava Dodson, Jaxon Woolum, Kynsley Kerr, Elijah Davis, and Finley Rice.

     He is also survived by his sisters, Connie Lucas (Gary Walt) of Jacksonville, FL, Kim (Doug) Stiverson of Lancaster, OH, Kristy Woolum, of Millersport, OH and Jon Woolum of Jacksonville, OH, and many nephews and nieces who he loved visiting with.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, and his step-parents, Ken Bungard and Joanne Woolum, and an infant son, Randall Jr.

     Calling hours will be at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home on Wed. Dec. 27th, 2023, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm with a service at 6:30. There will be an opportunity to share a story or two; or you can write them down and they will be read at the service.
