Roger Summerfield

BELPRE—Roger W. Summerfield, 85, of Belpre, OH, formerly of Murrysville, PA, passed away Aug. 10, 2026, at Harmar Place in Marietta, OH.

Roger worked as a draftsman for U.S. Steel in the Pittsburg area, doing design work for steel mills.

In his early days, he enjoyed drag racing, golf, bowling, playing baseball and going to car shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Pearl Pitts Summerfield.

Roger is survived by his brother, Sherman Summerfield and Teresa; nieces, Tara Freshour and Shane along with their children, Emerie, Ihla, Sutton, Riggs and Daxton; Whitney Gordon and Matthew and their sons, Landon and Levi and several cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and aids at Harmar Place for all their care and support. Thank you to Marietta Home Health and Hospice and Amedisys for their support.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday Aug. 14, 2026, at White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH with Pastor Jay Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in the Tuppers Plains Christian Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday, from 10 A.M. until time of the service.
