Ronald L. Swain

COOLVILLE—Ronald L. Swain, 85, of Coolville, OH, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 25, 1941, in Reedsville, OH, son of the late Delmar Jake and Edith (Baker) Swain. Ronald was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Prior to joining the military, he attended Eastern High School. He attended Eden United Brethren Church and was an avid outdoorsman.

He is survived by 2 sons, James Wood and Bryan (Melissa) Wood; a daughter, Kathy Swain; 6 grandchildren, Anna (Dylan) Shingleton, Samantha, Charlie, Christian, Jimmy and Tristin; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Swain; his longtime partner, Charlotte Dowler and her sons, Danny Dowler and Chad (Heather) Dowler; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lawrence Swain and Merle Swain.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at Eden United Brethren Church with Gary Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Eden Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude’s Foundation.
