Ryan Lee McKinney-Bareswilt

Ryan Lee McKinney-Bareswilt, age 45 of Athens, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 23, 2024 at his home. Born February 2nd, 1979 in Gallipolis, Ohio, he was the son of the late Anna Marie McKinney and Roy Grayson Bareswilt.

Ryan graduated from Meigs High School in 1998. After high school, he obtained his paramedic and Firefighter II certifications. Ryan served selflessly for numerous fire and EMS agencies in central and southeastern Ohio. Ryan served as a volunteer fireman with Rutland Volunteer Fire Department. Most recently, Ryan was employed with GDC of Gallipolis. 

Besides his parents, Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Ryan is survived by his son, Boston Bareswilt of Athens, Ohio; daughter, Makayla Coppus of Plain City, Ohio; sister, Chrisi Bareswilt of Lake Mary, Florida; brother, Andrew Bareswilt of Circleville, Ohio; uncles, John McKinney of Pomeroy, Ohio, Mike Bareswilt of Cheshire, Ohio; four nephews; two nieces; and many cousins. He also is survived by his numerous friends and co-workers who all mourn his untimely passing.

Ryan was most proud to be a father to Boston and Makayla. They were his greatest accomplishments. Ryan loved to share his diverse music taste and passion for cars with Boston. Everyone who had the pleasure of Ryan's presence was in for a laugh no matter the mood. He would always brighten the room.

Ryan's final wish was for a celebration of life which will be held at the Rutland Civic Center, 337 Main Street, Rutland, Ohio 45775. Please join us Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 from 4PM - 7PM to pay your respects and celebrate a life lost too soon.
