COOLVILLE—Sharon Elizabeth (Carr) Johnson, 77, of Coolville, OH, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at her residence.
She was born August 22, 1945, in Cedarville, WV, daughter of the late Edward Lee Carr and Nellie Ann Smith Carr. She was a former special education teacher, and was a member of the Center for Soulful Living. She studied with José Silva, author of The Silva Method of Mind Control, and she studied at the Monroe Institute. She enjoyed studying psychology, mindfulness, meditation, holistic-healing and spirituality and was active with like-minded friends far and wide. Sharon loved animals and her pets were a huge part of her life. She was a wonderful gardener, cook and artist with a voracious appetite for reading and was loved by all who knew her. She was a true mother to many throughout her life and was generous to a fault.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 45 years, David G. Johnson; a son Derrick (Alissa) Smith; sisters, Barbara Poland, Rebecca (James) Sabo, and Vicki Pletcher; 2 sisters–in-law, Mary Susan (Russell) Keaton and Garland Carr, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Paul Carr; and her brother-in-law, Gerald Poland.
Sharon’s wishes were to be cremated and there will be no funeral services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH.
