Shirley Johnson

     REEDSVILLE—Shirley E. Johnson, 77, of Reedsville, OH, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024, at her residence.

     She was born July 4, 1946, daughter of the late Soleman Brent and Bonna Leep Exline. Shirley retired from Eastern High School, where she was a cook for 26 years.  She was a member of the Reedsville United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the women’s group.  Shirley enjoyed going to truck pulls and especially enjoyed going to all of her grandchildren’s activities.

     Shirley is survived by a son, Jeff and Deanna Johnson; stepdaughter, Debbie Kern; 9 grandchildren, Brooke Vannest, Amanda Veach and Josh Veach, Balin, Gannon, Reegan, Hayden, Ewan, Stella; three great-grand children, Layton Vannest, Jace and Blakely; 3 sisters, Charlotte Rowe, Anna Beeson and Linda Strong and caregiver, Caralyn Barton.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Johnson; step-grandson, Christopher Lett; sister, Kathy Becker and grandson-in-law, James Vannest.

     Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Sunday, May 5, 2024, at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, Ohio with Kenny Tolliver officiating.  Burial will follow in the Eden Cemetery.

     Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday, from noon until time of service.
