Susan Eileen Pitts

ATHENS- Susan Eileen Pitts, 77, of Athens passed away at the Laurels of

Athens on May 6, 2025. Born May 4, 1948 in Waverly, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Gretta Eylar.

Susan was a graduate of Waverly High School, and retired from United Seniors of Athens County just last

year after a long and successful career. Susan was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She

loved her family greatly and had a soft spot in her heart for animals (especially her many adopted fur

babies). Susan enjoyed spending time with friends and especially loved traveling to the beach.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Beryl “Bud” Eylar, and husband, Bob Pitts. She

is survived by her son Keith and her grandson Chris.

There are no services planned at this time at her request, but the family will hold a small celebration of

life when the pain of her passing eases. Be kind, live life to the fullest, and put your toes in the sand.
